Each child in Wales will sit the Welsh National tests each year. These are personalised assessments in Maths and English to help monitor their progress. Personalised assessments in reading and numeracy are taken online by learners in years 2 to 9 in maintained schools in Wales and are statutory. They can be used alongside a range of assessment approaches to support the understanding and development of reading and numeracy skills which are mandatory within Curriculum for Wales.
